Reading is Fun!

My UK summer is now drawing to an end; a great year for fundraising and making new plans for the school. Reading for pleasure will be our focus this year. I have amassed a wonderful selection of picture and simple story books (already shipped out to Gambia and awaiting collection when I arrive) and I will be carrying a large book display rack with me on the flight this week! I plan to use some of the money donated this summer to buy fixtures and furniture to set up a book corner for all the students to access independently, and plan to training up a classroom assistant to be the resident story-teller for the Early Years sessions.

I would very much appreciate any contributions of simple story books in good condition, (cheap and plentiful in charity shops, I have found) to add to our library. There is a "Suitcase for Senegal"

operation being planned by friends in Shropshire, who would like to collect and send items in the next few months. If you would like to help please contact me for details.
